The Akwa Ibom state government says it is impressed by the resolute commitment demonstrated by the management of Obong University, Obong Ntak in catering to the character and moral development needs of her students in addition to qualitative secular knowledge the institution was providing. Making the remark when members of the management team of Obong University called on him in his office, the Akwa Ibom state Commissioner for Works Mr Ephraim Inyang-eyen maintained that aside from skills needed to provide workable solutions to the myriads of problems facing the society, the society also needed educated men and women with firm moral principles, character and integrity who will not compromise in the course of their service to the nation. Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of Obong University, Professor Udoudo Ekanemesang said the visit by the Management of Obong University to the Commissioner for Works, Akwa Ibom state was motivated by the need to further discussions between the management of the university and the Akwa Ibom state government on areas of collaborations and assistance. Professor Ekanemesang used the opportunity to convey the appreciation of the Obong University community to Governor Udom Emmanuel for pledging to construct access roads in the University during the occasion of the 2nd Convocation Ceremony of the institution last year, noting that the gesture was a physical confirmation of the present administration’s determination to promote public-private partnerships.
