Friday, October 28, 2016
As part of our continuous efforts at Obong University to seek out newer ways of integrating innovative technologies, especially in the area of Information and Communications, into the teaching and learning process, today, a team from Microsoft Corporation arrived our campus at Etim Ekpo L.G.A for a thought-sharing session with a focus on effective use of technology for better teaching, learning and student outcomes. Our decision to invite Microsoft Corporation for the thought-sharing session with Staff and Students was anchored on our appreciation of the fact that new and emerging technologies are provoking a re-conceptualisation of teaching and learning, and has the propensity to serve as catalysts for transformation and innovation. The Management of Obong University also engaged in further talks with the team on additional ways of collaboration with Microsoft Corporation on areas of teaching, research and students’ development. The Microsoft Corporation team was led by Jordan Belmonte, Education Programs Manager, and Microsoft Nigeria. A Microsoft Innovative Education Expert, Mr Samuel Eshiet was also part of the team.
The thought-sharing session had in attendance the Management team of Obong University led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Udoudo Ekanemesang, academic staff as well as students.
